Meet Me In The Meadow: What It’s All About?

It’s not about following our career path; It’s about following His call upon our lives. Matthew 16:24
It’s not about our self-efforts to live for Him; It’s about letting Him live His life in us. Gal. 2:20
It’s not about our attempts at self-improvement; It’s about His transforming grace. 2 Cor. 5:17
It’s not about our self-image; It’s about being conformed to His image. Romans 8:29
It’s not about our abilities to serve; It’s about His power to equip us. Acts 1:8
It’s not about our human resources; It’s about His sufficiency. 2 Corinthians 3:5
It’s not about wanting the approval of others; It’s about having His approval. 2 Tim. 2:15

Menu Plan Monday, April 12, 2010

Welcome to another Menu Plan Monday hosted by Laura at I'm An Organizing Junkie. This week should be filled with homecooking. As much as I tried last week, it just didn't happen. Sunday~Grilled Kielbassi, Baked Potato Salad, and Baked Beans

Monday~BBQ Pork Chops, Twice Baked Potatoes, Steamed Corn

Tuesday~Cheeseburgers, Fries and Fresh Fruit

Wednesday~Grilled Ham, Mashed Potatoes with Country Gravy and Green Beans

Thursday~Spaghetti, Veal Parmesan, Tossed Salad and Garlic Toast

We went walking...

...this afternoon. Here are some daffodils outside the rectory behind our home.

Some hyacinths and tulips waiting to bloom.

A daffodil in my backyard.

My favorite, a red tulip, about to bloom in our garden.

The Bleeding Heart plant is already showing heart flowers.

The back corner of our yard. I am going to miss the springtime show when we move. It's so lovely.

Easter 2010

The family on Easter Sunday after Mass (where dd had run her hands through my hair...aauuggh!)

Our dining table for Easter dinner.

John carving the ham for dinner.

The kids and I in our yard in front of the Egg Tree.

Our precious children

We had a lovely day. We attended Mass, came home to prepare for dinner with my family and had an egg hunt. Then we relaxed for a bit before heading to dh's parents for a visit. It was a busy day! Hope your day was great too!

Just sharing...

Friday was our student teacher's last day with our class. I always try to give my student teacher a gift that is a keepsake, whether it's a scrapbook, tote personalized with the student's handprints, or a slideshow. This year I made a collage using Smilebox, matted and framed it. I had my students sign their names on the mat to make it more personal. Miss Miller loved it! I had it in a bag with a few teacher supplies, as well.

Hockey Banquet

On Monday evening we attended the Hockey Booster's Annual Banquet. It was a nice event, with great food.

Our Freshman team are the Laurel Hockey League's 09-10 Champions with a 13-1 season record. The boys, in grades 5-9, really came together as a team through the season and did a great job. DS is second from the right in the second row. They were each given a small trophy and a championship t-shirt.

DS is posing with the Championship Trophy. He was so proud!

Easter Eggs 2010

We gathered the coffee mugs and used the PAAS Traditional Egg Coloring Kit last Saturday to color our dozen of eggs.

Monday Musings and a Menu Plan, too!

It's Monday. It's the start of another week, which seems to just be blending into the previous week. It was a busy holiday weekend and I'm sorely missing a longer Easter break this morning. I love having Monday after Easter off, to recoup. We have school today, then it's off to another appointment with our builder, then to a hockey banquet for ds. I'm hoping to get home before nine. Tomorrow will be more of the same and so will Wednesday. Here's hoping that nothing comes up on Thursday. Friday is another busy day. I am hoping to cook for the family amidst the chaos of life. It's so important to take that time and sit down as a family. We eat, laugh, and talk about our days. Here's what's planned for our dinners this week:

Monday~Hockey Banquet

Tuesday~Easter Leftovers for dinner

Wednesday~Grilled BBQ Italian Chicken, Rice Pilaf, Green Beans

Thursday~Cheeseburgers, Tater Tots, and Baked Beans

Friday~Pizza and Wing Night

Saturday~Grilled Kielbassi on a Roll, Macaroni and Cheese, Corn

Easter Prayer

I received this beautiful prayer in my inbox from Holley Gerth at Heart to Heart with Holley:

Thank You for the gift of HOPE
You gave us on Easter morning.
Because of You we know
That no problem is too difficult
And even death does not have power over us.

Thank You for the gift of JOY
You gave us when You were resurrected.
Because of you we know
That no matter how challenging life may be,
In the end we will rejoice again.

Thank you for the gift of LOVE
You gave us when You laid down Your life.
Because of You we know
That there is no sin too great to separate us
and we are incredibly valuable to You.

Thank You for the gift of LIFE,
You gave us when You left the tomb.
Because of Easter we know
this world is just the beginning
and we will spend forever in heaven with You.

We celebrate You, JESUS,
With hearts full of praise and gratitude
For who You are and all You've done for us!
