Our Goddaughter's Graduation

Our beautiful goddaughter, Crystal,  graduated from 8th grade. We attended the graduation Mass and Awards Ceremony with her family last night.  Crystal won awards for High Honor Roll and the best attendance record for her 9 years at the school.  She has only missed 5 days of school in all those years!  That's dedication.  She is headed to high school in the fall.  We are proud of her and love her to pieces!  Congratulations Crystal!

Here's the graduate with her family.  She is the 6th of 7 children.  Her lovely sisters even traveled in from Pittsburgh to share in this special day.  How sweet is that?!

Shade Garden

Since the herb garden didn't do very well in this spot, we decided to expand the shade garden...this is the garden that was planted last year with the new rubber mulch.  The regular mulch was growing artillery mold, which was shooting a brown tar like substance on the house and railings.

This is our Bleeding Heart Plant in bloom.

This is a shot from the porch of the new plants...hostas, bleeding hearts, sweet woodruff and astilbe.

Look Whooo's Turning 8!

Miss M is 8!

Miss M is into Owls these days, so we made Owl Treat Bags for her to take to school for her classmates.  I used the Cricut to make the toppers.

Miss M wanted cupcakes and chocolate peanut butter ice cream for her birthday.  I made funfetti cupcakes with whipped frosting, topped with heart sprinkles and owl cupcake toppers.  I ordered the plates and napkins from Oriental Trading

Miss M was blessed with lots of presents for her birthday!  You can see that she loved her new sandals...

...and the craft kit from her uncle...

...and new clothes for her American Girl Doll.

Thanks for stopping by!

First Communion Day

Our daughter on her First Communion Day

Miss M made her First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 5th.  Here are some of the photos from her special day.  Mass was at 10 am, then the parish had a reception following for the children.  We then hosted a luncheon at our home for our family.

Above is the altar cloth made from the banners each of the children designed and made.

The children renewed their Baptismal promises, while holding their Baptismal Candles.

During the Offertory, the children brought a rose to their mothers.  Loved that!

Maddie read a prayer petition she had written.

Here is Miss M receiving the Body of Christ for the first time.

First Communion Party

Miss M made her First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 5th.  We hosted a luncheon following the mass for family.  The food buffet, pictured above, included a cheese platter, BLT dip with Beer Bread, Deviled Eggs, Veggies and Dip,  Sliced Baked Ham with Hard Rolls, Macaroni Salad, Potato Salad, and Tossed Salad.  There was plenty of food and more than enough leftovers.

For dessert, I made frosted sugar cookie cut-outs.

A local cake baker made the cake.  It was as delicious as it looks!

I made chocolate cupcakes topped with whipped frosting.  I made the cross cupcake picks, too.

I also had personalized lollipops and small popcorn containers filled with kettle corn and cinnamon popcorn on the dessert buffet.  The banner is from Etsy.

First Communion Sneak Peek...

Miss M had her First Holy Communion Pictures taken on Wednesday evening, so I snapped a few photos of my own.  This one is my favorite.
