We gathered today to sew some dresses for girls in Africa. The dresses are very easy to sew, even for a beginner like myself. We made 7 dresses in little over 2 hours. We'll meet again in August to sew a few more. The website is

Hi, I am organizing a sewing party for girls in Africa as well. It's not your typical one. Apparently, studies indicate that girls miss 9 weeks of school in Africa because of menstruation. They need cloth pad donations. There are many organizations that will take cloth pads. I've listed sites re: how to make them and where to send them:
