The walls of the foundation were set today. There are about 29 photos in the slideshow, so please be patient with it loading. Here's a single photo of the completed project:

As of today, the house will be on site Tuesday. It will be attached to the walls on Wednesday. On Thursday, the outside finishing will begin.

Ready for the walls...

..after the final layer of gravel has been applied and is awaiting the arrival of the walls on Thursday. I don't think the house is as big as I thought. Of course, the square footage is more than our old house, but it's different. I'm sure it will be fine.

This shot is looking up the driveway from where the garage doors will be when the house is there. You can see our closest neighbor from here.

More Progress....

The large hole is now filled with layers of geotextile (fabric) and two sizes of stone. Another layer of smaller stone will be put on today. It will soon be ready for the walls. :0)

More excavation photos....

This photo shows where the excavator left off on Tuesday evening. It's hard to tell, but there are different depths within the big hole. The gravel shows where the main drain is buried. This is looking down the hill.

You can really tell how deep the hole is, because dh is about 5'10" and he looks really tiny. This is the opposite end of the lot, where the drain starts.

This photo shows the five dump truck loads of stone that was delivered yesterday. We still need about five more loads to get the right depth.

Thanks for stopping by!

Excavation has resumed!

After about a month and a half delay, our site is back under construction. This is a photo of the main drain that will run under and around the house.

This is the middle part of the lot where the drain runs through the site.

The excavator in action.

This is the top of the lot, where the drain will begin.

The kids are on the hillside watching the excavation below them.

If all goes well, the site will be ready for the foundation walls by the end of the week. On August 5th, the walls will be set. On August 11th, the house will be set upon the foundation. Then it will be another few weeks until we can move in....can't wait!
Blessings,
Lisa
