Peanutty Chex Squares

I'm always on the look out for healthy homemade treat recipes. I found this one on Betty Crocker, but made a few adjustments. The above picture shows the bars while cooling. They smell delicious. Here's the recipe:

Peanutty Chex Squares

1/2 cup Honey (I used honey from our beekeeping friend)

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

6 Cups Rice or Corn Chex

1/2 cup honey roasted peanuts

1. Butter 8 or 9 inch square pan.

2. In a 3-quart saucepan, heat honey and sugar just to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

3. Stir in peanut butter. Gently stir in cereal and peanuts until evenly coated. I did a lot of folding to make sure everything was coated. Let stand one hour. For squares, cut into 6 rows by 6 rows. Store loosely covered. Enjoy!

Makes 36 squares

peace and blessings,

Lisa

Miss M

We took a road trip yesterday to visit dh's bil and his family. They had rented a pirate ship bouncy house for the day and Miss M had a blast on it, as you can see!

New things from Ballard Designs

It doesn't take much to make me happy. Ballard Designs is one of my favorite catalogs. So many of their items are way out of my price range, but recently they've been having "Bring Home Ballard" specials. I took advantage of it and ordered a few things. I bought the pillow, above, for $15.00. It's a feather pillow with velvet cover and was personalized for FREE! I've had my eye on a pillow that size that coordinates with my bedding for months and it's always been over thirty-five dollars. I am so thrilled with the new pillow.
(sorry about the crappy pic!)

I've also been on the look-out for a letter "D" plaque for the photo gallery I am starting in the hallway. I bought this one at Ballard Designs as well. I think the gallery turned out very well! I still have to add some photos to the 4x6 frames and I need two more black 8x10 frames to make it complete, but this is a good start. If you look here you can see my attempt at planning the photo layout.

I also ordered a boot mat for the foyer, to keep our wet shoes in during the winter months, but it is on back-order. It was only $15.00 too.

This house is starting to feel like a home, yep, I finally said it. It's been a long haul and it's far from done, but six months later I'm finally getting it together. (I think!) Thanks for stopping by today! Peace and blessings to you!
