Menu Plan Monday 9.26.10

Welcome to another Menu Plan Monday, hosted by Laura at I'm An Organizing Junkie. Be sure to stop by her blog and view the 100's of weekly menu plans. Life has been crazy busy for us, but I'm trying to get back in the routine and get my menu published this week. I did follow my menu last week, but didn't get it posted. The house is ready for its final inspection today and then we will be clear to move in. I'm excited and anxious at the same time. There is so much to do to move, and life goes on....dance, hockey, family parties, religious ed, open house and more. Can you say stress? lol

Here's our menu plan for the week:

Sunday~Tortellini and Marinara, Salad, and French Bread

Monday~Turkey Club Sandwiches, French Fries or Chips and Fruit

Tuesday~Slow Cooker Cube Steaks in Gravy, Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans

Wednesday~BBQ Jack Chicken, Rice Pilaf and Corn

Thursday~Chicken Noodle Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Friday~Pizza and Wing Night

Saturday~Not sure just yet....

Have a wonderful week full of blessings,

Lisa

Log Cabin Arts Festival

On Saturday, I made the annual trip to the Log Cabin Arts Festival. While there, I picked up a few Christmas gifts for the family. Above are two Soap-sicles for the kids. Miss M got Watermelon and H picked Raspberry. I'll use them for stocking stuffers. The seller has a website at www.bathavenue.com Check it out! She has some great scents.

Each year, the kids and dh get an ornament (or two!). This year, I bought J a jacket ornament with his college alma mater, Saint Francis University, on it. J wore a similar jacket during his college years, so I thought it would be a good memory. I bought H the CC jacket for his school. He was with me, so he was super thrilled with it.

I also picked up this bucket and apple pointer for my student teacher. I'm going to fill it with some school goodies and a gift card for her end of placement gift.

My "big" purchase was these rugs for the kitchen. They are handbraided and machine washable, which I love. I bought the runner for in front of the sink and the smaller one for in front of the door in the dining area. I wanted a much larger one for under the dr table, but they didn't have anything that large available.
I'm happy to have started some of my shopping for Christmas. I have a few other gifts hidden away and am looking forward to having it all done by December 1st, so I can enjoy the holiday season more stress free.
Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings and peace,
Lisa

New House Updates-September 3, 2010

It has been awhile since I've posted anything other than menus. School is back in session and life is really busy for the entire family. As for the house, the siding is just about finished. We have some accents to put on and some soffit and fascia to finish outside too. The first floor is just about completed. We're planning on painting the bedrooms this weekend. My plan is to make my final paint choices today.

This is part of the kitchen.

First Day of School 2010

School started on Monday for our kindergartener and our middle schooler. The first week of school has been fantastic for both of them. H loves middle school, his classes, his teachers, his new friends and even the bus driver! M likes her teacher and friends. It's been so hot that she is pretty wiped out by the end of the day. I'm hoping for cooler temps soon!
Miss M waiting for her bus on the first day.

H ready to head out to the bus. He didn't want any pics at the bus stop. Middle Schoolers are too cool for their moms to take bus stop photos. ;0)

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,

Lisa
